Loads of women end up making everyone else but them the priority in their lives. You spend so much of your time making up the shopping list for the family, ensuring that homework is done, that everyone has clean work and school clothes, taking kids to ballet lessons, swim coaching and so on that you tend to forget yourself.
If you don’t give yourself a break every now and again you end up grumpy, fatigued and stressed out, which doesn’t make anyone happy. You should start setting aside a little ‘you’ time to make you feel refreshed and relaxed and that will benefit everyone else in the family too.
There are several different things that you might choose to do to pamper or reward yourself for all your hard work. Taking time out for exercise is a great plan. It might seem like a bit of a chore at first, but you will see the results in a leaner more toned body and you will also have more energy and be less stressed.
If you need a bit of help either getting motivated or with the type of exercises to do, then you should consult a personal trainer. They can come with a routine for you to do and keep you on track with your exercising. You don’t necessarily need to keep training with them indefinitely, but they are very useful for getting you in the habit of exercising and doing it correctly.
If working out is not your idea of fun, then something like a homedics massager might be more up your alley. You can use this whenever you feel a bit tense and it will make your muscles feel relaxed and amazing. The most wonderful thing about this is that you can use it any time you like: no need to make an appointment.
Another way to pamper yourself is to go to your local department store and bombard the beauty counter. Having great skin makes everyone feel wonderful. As you get older you really need to make your skin care a priority in order to keep a clear complexion and smooth skin. Shout yourself a new Lancome eye cream, Clarins night cream or Estee Lauder face scrub. It might seem like a luxury, but it is certainly one you deserve.
One of the hardest parts of being a mom is overcoming this feeling that your needs always need to come second to everyone else’s in the family. Being a good parent does involve making certain sacrifices, but you should always reserve a little something for you.
